Water Testing in Chandler, Read Line by Line
Scale on your fixtures, a chlorine smell or a salesman's warning all have causes you can measure. We test your water in your home, show you each reading and explain what it means before anyone talks about equipment. The test is free, with zero obligation.

Why We Measure Before We Recommend
A water softener, a carbon filter and a reverse osmosis unit each solve a different problem. Softener resin swaps calcium and magnesium for sodium. Carbon grabs chlorine and the taste it leaves. An RO membrane strips dissolved solids down to a small fraction. Pick the wrong one and you pay for a system that leaves your actual complaint in place.
So the test comes first. We check hardness in grains per gallon, total dissolved solids, chlorine, pH and iron. One sample comes from where the main line enters your home and another from the kitchen tap. If the two match, the issue is in the water you receive. If the tap reading is worse, your own pipes or water heater are adding to it.
Water across Chandler and the East Valley is commonly hard, but hard is not a number. The reading at your home decides whether a softener makes sense, how large it should be and whether filtration or RO belongs alongside it.
What the Test Covers
Hardness in grains per gallon
We titrate a sample for calcium and magnesium. That figure sets softener capacity and regeneration frequency, so it is the one we measure most carefully.
Total dissolved solids
A TDS meter shows the full mineral and salt load in your water. High TDS with moderate hardness points toward reverse osmosis for drinking water rather than a larger softener.
Chlorine and pH
Disinfectant residual explains most taste and odor complaints. pH tells us how aggressive the water is toward copper pipe and whether a carbon stage will perform as rated.
Iron and staining check
Orange or brown marks in sinks and toilets can come from iron in the supply or from corroding galvanized pipe. We test for iron and look at the plumbing to tell those apart.
A look at existing equipment
If you already have a softener or filter, we test water before and after it. That shows whether the unit is working, needs new media or was never sized for your home.

Signs Your Water Is Worth Testing
- Rings of scale around spouts and drains
- The hard white deposit that forms where water dries, on faucet bases, tub drains and shower glass, is calcium carbonate. How quickly it returns after you scrub it hints at hardness. Our titration turns that hint into an exact number.
- Crackling from the water heater
- You hear popping from the tank each time the burner lights. Mineral sediment has collected on the tank floor, and water trapped beneath it flashes to steam. Long, hot summers make that sediment build faster.
- Pool or bleach smell at the tap
- A chlorine odor is usually harmless but unpleasant. We measure the residual so a carbon system can be sized to remove it.
- Soap that will not lather
- Hard minerals bind with soap and leave film on skin, dishes and laundry. If you use more detergent than the label calls for, hardness is a likely cause.
- A quote with no numbers behind it
- If someone recommended a system without measuring your water, test before you sign. A short reading either backs the recommendation or saves you the purchase.
How the Visit Runs
- 1
Pick a time by phone
Tell us what you are noticing and where. We note the age of your home, any existing equipment and which taps bother you most.
- 2
Sample at two points
We draw water at the main supply point, usually near the hose bib or where the line enters, and again at the kitchen sink. Running the tap first clears standing water so the reading reflects your supply.
- 3
Read each result with you
You watch the titration and meter readings and we write each number down. We explain what is normal, what is high and what drives it.
- 4
Hear an honest recommendation
If the numbers support a softener, whole-home filtration or reverse osmosis, we say which and why. If your water does not need treatment, we tell you that too.
Your Test Is Free; Here Is What Sets System Price
We charge nothing for the water test, and you owe nothing afterward. Should you choose treatment, install is included with water treatment systems. Your readings set the system price, mostly through the factors below.
- Hardness level
- Higher grains per gallon need more resin capacity to avoid constant regeneration. That changes tank size and salt use.
- Household water use
- The number of people and bathrooms sets the flow rate a system must handle without a pressure drop at the shower.
- How many problems the test finds
- Hardness alone calls for one system. Hardness plus strong chlorine taste may call for a softener paired with a carbon stage, or RO under the sink.
- Plumbing access
- Many homes have a pre-plumbed softener loop in the garage. Without one, the plumber runs new connections, which adds parts and time.
Water Testing Questions
- Do I pay anything for the test?
- No. It costs nothing and carries zero obligation. The readings are yours to keep, and plenty of people book one just to learn what is in their water.
- How is this different from the utility's water quality report?
- The city report describes water leaving the treatment and supply system. Your tap reading also reflects what happens in your own pipes, fittings and water heater. That is why we sample both at the supply point and inside your home.
- Do you test for lead?
- Our in-home test focuses on hardness, dissolved solids, chlorine, pH and iron. If your home has older plumbing or you have a specific health concern, we will explain why a laboratory analysis is the right step and what to ask the lab to run.
- Who installs the system if I decide on one?
- Installs are done by licensed and insured partner plumbers once you choose a system. Every install comes with a 5-year warranty on installation and labor.
- I already own a softener. Is a test still useful?
- Often more so. Testing before and after the unit shows whether the resin is exhausted, the brine valve is stuck or the settings are wrong. Sometimes an adjustment fixes it and no new equipment is needed.
